Dedicated to the memory of David Leach

David was born in the village of Skelmanthorpe, near Huddersfield and lived in the area all of his life. A well known and popular figure locally, David was keen on any kind of sport, enjoyed socialising with friends, loved traveling the world on business – but loved traveling the world on holiday even more! A skilled engineer, David was a very practical man who was always in the thick of a DIY project or garden re-design. He had boundless energy and was always ready for the next challenge. David was very much a family man and really came into his own when he became a granddad. Building Lego castles….on his hands and knees giving ‘pony rides’…..playing with the train set……..pushing a swing in the park – he had all the time in the world for the little ones, who adored him. It was a big disappointment to David that he couldn’t sing a note in tune, or whistle to save his life, but that never stopped him having a go anyway, which caused endless amusement for friends and family. He would have loved to be the star of the karaoke machine! For David, life was for living and for enjoying. He made the most of every day and will be remembered for his smile, his kindness, his sense of fun – a life well lived indeed.
